Mutant Tomato – Update

This is an update to a post I did back in August 2011(read here).

At the time, the tomato pictured below (which self-seeded in my garden) was 4 months old and hadn’t shown any signs of breaking down or decomposing. It is now 7 1/2 months old and apart from changing colour it’s still completely whole!

Would you eat it?

  1. Good Grief!!! The unrottable tomato. Have you cut any open to see what they're like inside?

  2. No I haven't but I must admit it's starting to feel a bit squishy. I think its days are numbered. Like you, I have thought about what they must be like inside...

For the record, I've got next seasons' tomatoes forming in the garden. This is one amazing tomato. It has now spanned 2 seasons.
